Itinerary

Day 1 (Saturday)

Depart Anchorage and drive 45 minutes south to Girdwood.

Here we enjoy our first yoga class together, led by Jule at the Girdwood Yoga Shack. Expect to move, breathe & stretch the body while relaxing the mind. This will be an all-levels movement based practice with modifications for newer yogis and advanced options for more seasoned practitioners.

After our yoga session, we will eat lunch & try on our kayaking gear before continuing our journey south towards Seward; about another 1.5 hrs.

We’ll arrive Seward in the afternoon and meet our water taxi. Here we load up everything and enjoy a scenic motor boat ride to North Beach, where we camp both nights.

After setting up camp we can explore nearby trails, possibly up to a historic WWII Site, or just relax and enjoy being next to the ocean.

Dinner & campfire.

Day 2 (Sunday)

Wake up with the waves, birds and other sounds of nature as your guides prepare breakfast. After eating, we’ll have a mindfulness meditation & yoga practice.

That morning, we’ll do a “Sea Kayaking 101” skills introduction. We’ll learn about boats, paddling techniques, boat maneuvering and safety in ocean waters. We’ll practice boat entry/exit, practice paddle strokes and around the bay, getting a good feel for sea kayaking (or maybe work on refining our paddling/advanced techniques if this isn’t our first rodeo!)

We’ll pause for a leisurely lunch before heading out again to adventure down the bay.

Dinner, campfire, & evening Yoga/Ayurveda philosophy discussion: “Staying Centered in a Busy World; Easy Ayurveda Habits for Health”

Day 3 (Memorial Day)

We’ll wake up and enjoy our final Yoga practice together before eating breakfast and packing up camp.

We take our time sea kayaking the final 3-4 miles back to Seward; stopping for lunch, wildlife viewing, and stretching the body.

That night we’ll return to Anchorage between 7-9pm.
