Itinerary

Day 1 (Saturday)

We’ll meet in Seward early Saturday morning and board our water taxi. Here we load up everything and enjoy a 2 hour scenic motor boat ride through Holgate Arm and into the heart of the pristine waters of the Kenai Fjords National Park. On the taxi, we will likely see sea otters, porpoises, sea lions, eagles, sea birds and if we're lucky, humpback whales!

From our drop off point, we'll have lunch before setting up our basecamp in stunning Aialik Bay; once we are settled in, we'll enjoy our first backcountry yoga & meditation as a group.

With our newfound peace and bliss, we then turn gears for a "Sea kayak 101" skills school. We’ll learn about boats, paddling techniques, boat maneuvering and safety in ocean waters. We’ll practice boat entry/exit, practice paddle strokes and around the bay, getting a good feel for sea kayaking (or maybe work on refining our paddling/advanced techniques if this isn’t our first rodeo!)

Dinner & campfire.

Day 2 (Sunday)

Today is our big day! Wake up with the waves, birds and other sounds of nature as your guides prepare breakfast. After eating, we’ll have a mindfulness meditation and yoga practice that helps us wake up before a full day of being on the water.

Today we pack our lunch with us so we can spend a full day exploring the bay. We'll even paddle towards the Aialik Glacier where we get out, hike and have the opportunity for some stunning photos! We'll leave our boats on the shore so we can hike near the glacial ice and watch the glacial calve from a safe distance. (calving is when tidewater glaciers, like the Aialik, break apart and fall into the ocean-a pretty impressive show nature puts on!)

Dinner, campfire, & evening Yoga/Ayurveda philosophy discussion: “Staying Centered in a Busy World; Easy Ayurveda Habits for Health”

Day 3 (Monday)

We’ll wake up and enjoy our final Yoga practice together before eating breakfast and packing up camp; here we await our water taxi for another scenic ride back to Seward, arriving in the afternoon.
